Obituary: John Michael Florian, 82, of Wallingford
John was an avid collector, devoted family man and member of the Bridgeport Fire Department for 30 years.
WALLINGFORD, CT -(From Wallingford Funeral Home) John Michael Florian, 82, of Wallingford, died Saturday, August 21, 2021. He was the husband of Ruth Chadwick.
John was born in Bridgeport, CT, December 15, 1938. Son of the late John and Dorothy (Chase) Florian He moved to Wallingford, CT in 1991.
John was a member of the Bridgeport Fire Department for 30 years before his retirement in 1991.
He married Ruth Chadwick before his retirement and has enjoyed his married life and the experience of being a grandfather.
He was an avid collector of kerosene antique lamps and enjoyed going to auctions in search of more lamps to add to his collection.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Dorothy, and his sister Shirley.
John leaves behind his wife, Ruth Chadwick of 29 years; stepsons, Bobby Chadwick of Cheshire, CT, Michael Chadwick (Beth) of Lancaster, PA, and stepdaughter, DarciLynne Costanzo (Tony) of Alpharetta, GA. He is also survived by step-grandchildren, Heather and Melissa Chadwick of Cheshire, CT, Peyton, Hannah, and Cate Chadwick of Lancaster, PA and Samantha Costanzo of Alpharetta, GA.
He also leaves behind Mark and Jessica Costanzo of MO and GA and Alexander Dodge of Norway.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday Aug. 25th at 11 am in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext.
Interment will be private in St. John Cemetery in Darien.
