Obituary: Leontine “Tina” E. (Pagni) Ciszek, 95, of Wallingford

Tina, a woman of strong faith and founding member of the Church of the Resurrection, worked many years for the Unimax Switch Corporation.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Leontine “Tina” E. (Pagni) Ciszek, 95, of Wallingford, beloved wife of the late Lt. Col. Leo S. Ciszek, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden.

She was born in Wallingford on November 2, 1926, a daughter of the late Victor and Susie (Bacci) Pagni.

Tina was an Honor Graduate of Lyman Hall High School, class of 1944 and a member of the Reunion Committee. She worked in the office of Unimax Switch Corporation for 22 years before retiring. A woman of strong faith, Tina was a founding member of the Church of the Resurrection where she was a member of the Ladies Guild.

Tina enjoyed seeing the world, traveling to Europe, Morocco, Hawaii, Bermuda and Nova Scotia throughout her lifetime. She also enjoyed bowling, reading, working in her yard, walking with members of the senior center and was a big fan of the UCONN Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams.
Tina is survived by her daughters, Barbara Figlewski and her husband Jack Figlewski Sr. of Meriden and Janet Ciszek of Wallingford; her grandchildren, John (Amy) Figlewski Jr. of Meriden, Karyn (Ryan) Heffernan of Madison, Joseph (Andrea) Kolodziej of Florence, SC and Kendra Kolodziej of Exeter, NH; her great-grandchildren, Macy, Callie and Lucy Figlewski, Sloane and Sadie Heffernan, and Lillian and Nolan Kolodziej; her brother-in-law, George Gershefski of Marlton, NJ; as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Lena Barberino, Lorraine Gershefski and Elsie Ollino; and her brothers, Arthur, Charles and Raymond Pagni.

Her family would like to thank Dr. Susan Alsamarai and the Hematology Staff at MidState, as well as the nurses of Pavilion E and the staff of Comfort Care Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., on Thursday, February 17th from 9 to 10:15am when the funeral cortege will proceed to Church of the Resurrection where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am.

Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
