Obituary: Mark P. Lehr, 58, formerly of Wallingford

Mark, known as a kind, patient and funny man, was a devoted father, friend and animal lover.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Mark P. Lehr, 58, of Vero Beach, Florida, formerly of Wallingford, passed away unexpectedly in his home mid-September of 2021.

He was born in Meriden on October 10th, 1962 to the late Paul C. and June A. (Morello) Lehr.
Mark grew up in Wallingford, attending Lyman Hall High School, where he graduated in 1980.

While in high school, Mark patiently trained and cared for homing pigeons, fostering a lifetime love of animals.

He lived in Vero Beach Florida for most of his adult life where he started Mark P. Lehr & Sons, a logging company that he ran with his two boys. Mark's two sons were the most important thing to him and he was always actively engaged in their childhood.

Mark was the Cub Scout Leader for his children's troop while they were growing up which allowed him to be a constant presence and dedicated mentor to them.

He was a kind, patient, and funny man who was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need. Mark knew how to fix any problem he was presented with and was always there to help when you needed it.

In his spare time, Mark enjoyed fishing, watching the NY Jets, and hanging out with his friends.
Mark is survived by his sons, Jamie Proctor and Daniel (Sarah) Lehr; his brothers, Paul (Ann) Lehr and Carl (Lisa) Lehr and his sister Janine (John) Hey. He was predeceased by his sister, Christine Wiggers.

Mark's family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 10 am until 11 am.

Interment will be at St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
