Obituary: Yong “Kim” Swantek, 83, of Wallingford
Kim was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Yong “Kim” Swantek, 83, of Wallingford, wife of 59 years to Retired Sgt. First Class, US Army, Robert C. Swantek, passed away November 15, 2021 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden.
She was born in South Korea on June 16, 1938, a daughter of the late Kim Mi Cha and Sa Hyon Ok.
She married, became a homemaker and raised her family.
In addition to her husband, Robert, she is survived by her son, John Swantek and his wife, Ruth, her sister, Yong An Ko and her husband, Myong Sun; her grandchildren, Sean Swantek and Ashley Sprague and her husband, Tyler; her brothers-in-law, Glen Swantek, Gerald Swantek and Prime Bishop, John Swantek; her sisters-in-law, Alice Fecteau and Nancy Burke, her niece, Brenda Vertucci and her husband, Scott and their daughter, Brianna.
Her family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 3:30 pm until 6 pm.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday at St. Casmir Church in Wallingford.
Interment will follow in St. Casmir Cemetery in Wallingford.
