According to police, Young may be driving in a dark blue, 4-door vehicle, possibly a Honda. He is described as a black male, 5’7” tall, 150 pounds, with tattoos on his neck (his photograph is attached to this article). Young has previous addresses in Hartford and ties to the New Haven area, police said.

The female victim was one of three women in a vehicle with Young, according to a police report released today, June 24. At about 1:30 a.m. today they had a dispute while driving near the intersection of Litchfield Turnpike (Route 69) and Morris Road.

"The vehicle pulled over onto Morris Road at which time [the] male suspect ordered two female passengers out of the car at gunpoint," police said. "[The] suspect shot at and struck one of the females. This female was shot in the hand and the upper torso."

The vehicle, driven by a Hispanic female, then fled the area, police said.

The shooting victim and the other female ran back to Route 69, where they flagged down a passing vehicle and summoned assistance, according to the report.

The shooting victim was transported by ambulance to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment. Her status was not immediately available, and her identity has not been released by police.

Woodbridge Police are working closely with neighboring police departments and the CT State Police Major Crime Squad in this investigation.
