WALLINGFORD, CT — An 87-year-old Wallingford woman has said the massive potholes on her street make her feel like she’s a prisoner in her own home, according to WTNH News 8.
Rita Sheehan told WTNH that she’s handicapped and the only way she can get out is with her roller, and the deep potholes and cracks in the road make it difficult to get around. The family has complained to the town for more than a year to find a permanent solution, according to WTNH.
In a statement to WTNH, Wallingford Mayor Vincent Cervoni blamed the developer for not installing any drainage in the road, and said the town will be looking to funding and prioritizing the project in the upcoming capital improvement plan, but it likely won’t be fixed until the summer.
