Road Closure Announced For Road Race: Wallingford Police

WALLINGFORD, CT — Police are advising residents of a road closure that will be in effect due to the Meriden Markham Airport’s Run the Runway road race on Saturday, Oct. 4.

Road Closure:

Hanover Street, north of its intersection with Chimney Hill Road will be closed to all motor vehicle traffic from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Oct. 4.

The event is a “unique opportunity to run, jog, and walk on the runway,” according to a post on its website.

“The 5K race route will begin on the Meriden Markham Runway and venture out into the beautiful South Meriden neighborhood, before safely landing back on the runway for what will be a fantastic finish!” the post reads.

Proceeds will benefit Girls Inc. of Central Connecticut.
