Road Closures Announced For Block Party In Wallingford: Police

WALLINGFORD, CT — Police are advising residents of road closures and parking bans that will be in effect for an “end of summer” block party Friday in Wallingford.

Wallingford Center Inc. (WCI), in partnership with the Town of Wallingford, will be hosting a community Block Party from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22.

The festivities will take place on the public streets of North Main Street and Simpson Court.

Road Closures and Parking Restrictions

The following road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect on Friday, Aug. 22 for the block party:

• North Main Street, between Center Street and Church Street, will be closed to all motor vehicle traffic starting at 5 p.m. Parking on North Main Street will be prohibited beginning at 4 p.m.
• Simpson Court will be closed to all motor vehicle traffic starting at 4 p.m., and parking will be prohibited beginning at 3:30 p.m.
• Both streets will reopen following the conclusion of the event, which is expected to be around 9:30 p.m.

“Parking restrictions will be clearly posted in advance,” police wrote in a news release. “Please note: Vehicles parked in violation of these restrictions will be subject to ticketing and towing by the Wallingford Police Department.
