Road Closures Announced For Halloween Event & Night In Wallingford

Police announce road closures and parking bans that will be in effect during a Halloween event this week and also on Halloween night.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford police have announced road closures and parking bans that will be in effect during a Halloween event on Friday night and on Halloween night next week.

Halloween Parade/Celebration – Friday, Oct. 24

South Main Street, between the intersection of Center Street and Prince Street, will be closed to all motor vehicle traffic on Friday, Oct. 24 starting at 3 p.m. for a Halloween Event being hosted by the Town of Wallingford Public Celebrations Committee and Parks and Recreation Department. The closure is expected to last until approximately 9 p.m.

There will be no parking on South Main Street between Center Street and Prince Street on Friday, Oct. 24 starting at 2:30 p.m. Motorists are reminded that vehicles parked in violation of this prohibition will be subject to the issuance of a parking ticket by police and removal by tow truck.

North Main Street between the intersection of High Street and Cedar Lane will be closed to all motor vehicle traffic on Friday, Oct. 31 starting at 4:30 p.m. for the “safety of the large volume of pedestrians anticipated on Halloween night,” according to police. The closure is expected to last until approximately 9 p.m.

There will be no parking on North Main Street between High Street and Cedar Lane on Friday, Oct. 31 starting at 4 p.m. There will be additional parking restrictions, which police said will be clearly posted. Motorists are reminded that vehicles parked in violation of this prohibition will be subject to the issuance of a parking ticket by police and removal by tow truck.
