Sheehan Cruises Past Lyman Hall In Carini Bowl Victory: PHOTOS

The Titans qualified for the postseason and took the lead in the all-time Carini Bowl series with a dominant victory on Thanksgiving morning

WALLINGFORD, CT — The Sheehan football team punched its ticket to the playoffs with a dominant 42-0 victory over cross-town rival Lyman Hall in the annual Carini Bowl on Thanksgiving morning at Fitzgerald Field at Lyman Hall.

It was the 13th straight Carini Bowl victory for Sheehan, which took a 27-26 lead in the series.

The Titans (8-2) earned the fifth seed in the Class S tournament and will play No. 4 North Branford on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. at North Branford High School.

Lyman Hall, which had playoff hopes heading into the game, finished the season with a 7-3 record.

Senior running back Joshua Durant was named Sheehan’s offensive Most Valuable Player of the Carini Bowl. He finished with 154 yards rushing and three touchdowns.

Sheehan senior quarterback Jake O’Brien finished with 122 yards passing with a touchdown, and also ran for two touchdowns.

Senior Richard Van Dyke was named Sheehan’s defensive Most Valuable Player of the game.
