Police seized a "significant amount" of illegal THC vape products and other cannabis-related items from a smoke shop in Wallingford.
WALLINGFORD, CT — Police seized a “significant amount” of illegal THC vape products and other cannabis-related items from a smoke shop in Wallingford on Tuesday, according to officials.
Officers from the Wallingford Police Department’s Community Impact Unit, in collaboration with the State of Connecticut's Department of Consumer Protection Services (CPS) Tobacco Division, conducted compliance inspections of establishments selling vape, tobacco, and electronic cigarette products on May 6, according to Police Chief John Ventura.
Ventura said in a news release that the inspections were prompted by separate complaints received by both agencies, including “reports from School Resource Officers in Wallingford high schools regarding the illegal sale of products containing THC and other cannabis-related items without a dispensary license.”

Puff City was found to be in compliance with state sales regulations, according to Ventura.
