A Wallingford student has been arrested in connection with a dangerous TikTok "challenge," according to police.
WALLINGFORD, CT — A Wallingford student has been arrested in connection with a dangerous TikTok “challenge,” according to police.
Police said the student inserted pencil graphite into a Chromebook USB port, which caused the device to spark and smoke, “posing a potential fire hazard.”
“Thankfully, no injuries occurred, and the building was not evacuated,” police wrote in a post on Facebook.

The student was charged with third-degree criminal mischief and conspiracy to commit reckless burning.
“This incident serves as a critical reminder of the real dangers associated with viral online trends,” police wrote.
