Today is Monday, Aug. 26. Better take the umbrella:
Weather from the National Weather Service: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. Southwest wind 7 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
Dine at Alex and Ani New Haven on Tuesday and help out the Wallingford Dolphins Swim Team. Fifteen percent of all sales at the "Charmed by Charity" event from 6 to 8 p.m. goes to the group. They're located at 284 York St. in New Haven.

As painful as it may be, summer's almost over, and the town's Parks and Recreation Department has released its Fall 2013 Guide to Leisure and Fun. Click here to view the guide and here for information on how to register for the programs.
