Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Bust, DUI Charges: Wallingford Police
Nearly 500 Adderall pills and 79 Xanax pills were seized after the stop, according to police.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A Clinton man was arrested on DUI and drug charges after a traffic stop last Friday in Wallingford, according to police.
Officers with the Wallingford Police Traffic Division were working a State of Connecticut DUI grant on Jan. 17 when they saw a tan Lexus SUV crossing the double-yellow center line multiple times, according to Lt. Stephen Jaques.
Police conducted a traffic stop on North Colony Road and identified the driver as 39-year-old Brant Mendelson of Clinton, according to Jaques.

Jaques said Mendelson exhibited signs of intoxication and/or drug use and officers found drug paraphernalia in the car while they were talking with him.
“Officers conducted a field sobriety test on Mendelson which indicated he was impaired,” Jaques wrote in a news release. “Officers searched the Lexus on the scene and located a high volume of drugs along with indicators of sale.”

The items were seized and Mendelson was arrested, according to Jaques.
Jaques said 499 Adderall pills and 79 Xanax pills were seized along with a prescription belonging to someone else, and mailing material.
Mendelson was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol / drugs, failure to drive in proper lane, operating motor vehicle without a license, possession of controlled substance, and distribution / sale of controlled substance.
