Wallingford 2024 Election Results: Winners Revealed In Key Races

WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford’s incumbent state representatives Republican Craig Fishbein and Democrat Mary Mushinsky were expected to win their respective races, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.

The Record-Journal reports early results indicated Fishbein defeated Democratic challenger Rebecca Hyland in the 90th House District, and Mushinsky won in the 85th District over Republican Jerry Farrell Jr.

Incumbent Democratic U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro was projected to win an 18th term in the 3rd Congressional District.

Shortly after the polls closed Tuesday night, vice President Kamala Harris was declared the winner of Connecticut's seven electoral college votes, defeating former President Donald J. Trump and three other candidates, according to the Associated Press.

Also, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-CT, won re-election and a third term in Congress, according to projections. He defeated GOP challenger Matthew M. Corey and two other candidates.

Votes are still being counted in other key races, including the U.S. House of Representatives, and the state General Assembly races.

(Original post) WALLINGFORD, CT — The polls have closed in Wallingford, and now we wait for the results to come in through the night and likely into Wednesday morning for several key races.

All eyes are on the presidential race between main party candidates Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald J. Trump.

Beyond the presidential race, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-CT, is seeking re-election to a new six-year term and is being challenged by Matthew M. Corey, Justin C. Paglino, and Robert Finley Hyde.

Residents also voted for their local representative in the U.S. Congress, and their local state representative and senators in the General Assembly in Hartford.

Tuesday night's vote totals will also determine whether Connecticut will allow each person to vote by absentee ballot in future elections.

For President, the candidates are: Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, Democrat, Donald J. Trump and J.D. Vance, Republican, Jill Stein and Butch Ware, Green Party, Chase Oliver and Mike ter Maat, Libertarian, and Robert Kennedy Jr. and Nicole Shanahan, Petitioning candidate.

For United States Senate, the candidates are: Christopher S. Murphy, Democrat, and Matthew M. Corey, Republican. Murphy is also endorsed by the Working Families Party. Other candidates include: Justin C. Paglino, Green Party, and Robert Finley Hyde, Cheaper Gas Groceries Party.

For U.S. Congress, the candidates are: Rosa L. DeLauro, Democrat, versus Michael Massey, Republican. Massey is also endorsed by the Independent Party.

For state senate in the 34th senatorial district, the candidates are: Brandi Mandato, Democrat (also endorsed by the Working Families Party), Paul Cicarella, Republican (also endorsed by the Independent Party), and David A. Bedell, Green Party.

For state representative in the 85th District, the candidates are Democrat Mary M. Mushinsky (also endorsed by Working Families Party and Independent Party) and Republican Jerry Farrell Jr.

For state representative in the 90th District, the candidates are Rebecca Hyland (Democratic Party, Working Families Party) and Craig C. Fishbein (Republican Party, Independent Party).

In the 103rd District, Democrat Liz Linehan is the candidate for state representative.

For Registrar of Voters, the candidates are Thomas Wolfer, Democrat, and Joan Ives-Parisi, Republican.
