Lois B. Sprague, 92, died May 7, 2025. She worked as a receptionist at Elim Park Baptist Home, was a licensed Master Barber and CNA, and enjoyed church activities, harmonica, knitting, bingo, and summers at Campers World.

John “Jack” Greenwood Jr., 88, died May 7, 2025. A U.S. Marine Corp. Veteran of the Korean War, he had a lifelong career at American Cyanamid in Wallingford as a technician.
Anthony G. Pilla, 90, died on May 9, 2025; a longtime social studies teacher and alternative education coordinator at Plainview High School, he also served in the U.S. Army, held a master’s from UConn, published hundreds of political editorials, was active in Democratic politics, influenced Connecticut infrastructure policy, and pursued creative projects including educational games, political documentaries, and self-published books.

Scott Edward Mellor, 66, died on May 16, 2025. He spent his childhood on a small Wallingford farm with his parents and four siblings, worked on shrimp boats in Louisiana, later refinished wood floors in Connecticut, and spent his time fishing, crabbing, sharing stories, and enjoying good food.
Robert Van Marter, 83, died on May 17, 2025. A U.S. Air Force veteran and computer science student, he worked for W.T. Grant and Southern New England Telephone Company, and in retirement enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards and pool at the VFW, and dancing with his wife.
