Wallingford Death Notices: Sept. 4 Through Sept. 13, 2025

WALLINGFORD, CT — Below are recent death notices from Wallingford.

Francis F. Erff, 94, died Sept. 4, 2025. A U.S. Air Force veteran who served during the Cold War, he worked for the New Haven Parking Authority and later as general manager for the State of CT Department of Utilities, was an avid golfer and past president of Wallingford Country Club, served as treasurer of the 2nd Company Governor’s Foot Guard retiring as major, and was a member of the Wallingford Elks Lodge.

Claudia Steblek Norman, 74, died Sept. 5, 2025. She worked for many years at the Wallingford Adult Education Center supporting immigrant families learning English and pursuing citizenship.

Antoinette “Toni” Truini, 96, died Sept. 7, 2025. She was known for her lively spirit, humor, and passion for life, making friends easily and embracing each day with energy and joy.

Robert S. Slater, 99, died Sept. 7, 2025. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War awarded multiple medals, he worked as an oil burner technician, stayed active with walking and bowling, enjoyed maintaining vehicles and equipment, and followed the Red Sox, Giants, and UConn basketball.

David F. Gunn, 60, died Sept. 7, 2025; a union carpenter and member of Local 24 for 42 years who worked as a project superintendent with Downes Construction, he was a skilled craftsman, avid dirt bike racer with NETRA and GNCC, past president of the Connecticut Ramblers Motorcycle Club, honorary member of the Meriden Motorcycle Club, and enjoyed time with family at their lake house.

Joaquim Silva Goncalves Jr., 34, died Sept. 8, 2025. He was an adventurous spirit, avid Broncos and Red Sox fan, known for his humor, compassion, and devotion to his pets Ellie and Halo.

Audrey Paradiso Kolakowski, 90, died Sept. 12, 2025. She worked in education as a paraprofessional at Highland and Moses Y. Beach Schools after raising her family, and in retirement enjoyed life at Ashlar Village among friends and community.

Brian A. Dirisi, 55, died Sept. 13, 2025. A dedicated professional who began as a plumber, later owned a vending business, and worked as a regional salesman for CT Basement Systems, he was an avid surfer and snowboarder who embraced life with energy, adventure, and connection.
