Wallingford To Hold 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony
Road closures and parking bans will be in effect for the ceremony, which will commemorate the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
WALLINGFORD, CT — The town will hold a remembrance ceremony to commemorate the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on Wednesday, Sept. 11.
The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. in front of the Wallingford Town Hall.
“Citizens are invited to attend the Remembrance Ceremony and gather together to honor and pay tribute to all those affected by the events of September 11, 2001,” Mayor Vincent Cervoni wrote in a news release. “The program will include posting of the Colors, students from Lyman Hall High School and Mark T. Sheehan High School as well as other meaningful tributes.”

The following road closures and parking bans will be in effect on Wednesday, Sept. 11 for the ceremony:
South Main Street between its intersection with Center Street and Prince Street will be closed to all motor vehicle traffic starting at 9:30 a.m. Parking will be prohibited on South Main Street starting at 9 a.m.

In case of inclement weather, the program will be held in the Robert F. Parisi Town Council Chambers and South Main Street will remain open.
The event is sponsored by the Wallingford Fire Department, Wallingford Police Department and Public Celebrations Committee.
