Wallingford Man Charged In Armed Robberies, Vehicle Theft: Meriden PD

The man is accused of robbing three businesses at knifepoint, burglarizing another business, and stealing a vehicle, according to police.

MERIDEN, CT — A Wallingford man has been arrested in connection with several armed robberies, the burglary of a business, and the theft of a vehicle in Meriden late last year, according to police.

Three armed robberies took place in Meriden at Family Dollar, Colony Gas Mart, and Village Liquor Mart in December, according to Meriden Police Lt. Darrin McKay.

McKay said a knife was used in each robbery, and money was stolen.

Logan Steel on Empire Avenue in Meriden was burglarized around the same time as the robberies, according to McKay.

McKay said a vehicle was stolen from the business. The stolen vehicle matched the description of the suspect vehicle that was used in the robberies, according to McKay.

Members of the Meriden Crime Suppression Unit identified the suspected armed robber/burglar as Anthony Pagano, according to McKay.

McKay said Pagano was later arrested in connection with the robberies. He was already incarcerated on an unrelated robbery charge after being apprehended by members of the Wallingford Police Department, according to McKay.

Pagano, 34, was arrested on a warrant and charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of sixth-degree larceny, and one count each of criminal attempt to commit first-degree robbery, criminal attempt to commit sixth-degree larceny, third-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny, and larceny of a motor vehicle. He was held in lieu of a $600,000 bond.
