A Wallingford resident has died after his motorcycle struck a tree on Old Colony Road early Thursday morning. Wallingford police said Raymond Stone, 52, of 76 Spice Hill Drive in Wallingford, was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound when he left the paved portion and struck a tree on the west side of Old Colony Road, also known as Route 71. Police dispatchers received a 911 call about the accident around 1 a.m. When responders arrived they pronounced Stone dead at the scene, police said in a news release. The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident, or who may have other information, to call the Wallingford Police Department at 203-294-2805.

Police are seeking witnesses who may have any information related to the fatal accident early Thursday morning.
