Wallingford Man Wins Big Lottery Prize On Powerball Ticket
The winning ticket was sold at a business in Wallingford, according to the Connecticut Lottery.
WALLINGFORD, CT — While he didn’t claim Saturday’s $1.8 billion jackpot, a Wallingford man is celebrating his first-ever CT Lottery win with a $50,000 prize from a Powerball ticket, according to lottery officials.
The man told lottery officials that he decided to take a chance on a Powerball ticket with dreams of winning the $1.8 billion jackpot. While the dream didn’t come true, he is celebrating nonetheless and plans to invest his winnings, officials said.
He bought the winning ticket at Henny Penny on 77 North Turnpike Rd. in Wallingford.

Lottery officials said that while the $1.8 billion jackpot was won elsewhere, the Saturday, Sept. 6 Powerball drawing resulted in five tickets sold in Connecticut worth $50,000 or more and more than 120,000 tickets sold that won lower tier prizes.
Officials are advising residents to double-check your tickets to see if you have one of those 120,000 lower-tier prize winners.
