Wallingford’s Masonicare Announces Acquisition, Merger

Masonicare has acquired Atria Greenridge Place in Rocky Hill, and merged with United Methodist Homes of Shelton, Farmington, and Newington.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Wallingford-based Masonicare has announced that it has acquired Atria Greenridge Place in Rocky Hill and officially merged with United Methodist Homes, which operates communities in Shelton, Farmington, and Newington.

Masonicare is the state’s largest not-for-profit senior living and healthcare provider, and officials said these initiatives “represent a major step in expanding Masonicare’s reach while reinforcing its dedication to delivering compassionate, high-quality care to seniors across Connecticut,” according to a news release.

“Masonicare is thrilled to welcome United Methodist Homes and Greenridge Place to our family,” said Jon-Paul Venoit, president and CEO of Masonicare. “By uniting under the Masonicare name, we strengthen our commitment to accessible, high-quality care for Connecticut seniors, leveraging the combined resources and expertise of two mission-driven organizations.”

The merger positions United Methodist Homes, a 150-year time-honored organization, under the Masonicare brand, unifying the organizations under a shared identity that “enhances service quality and extends access to Masonicare’s comprehensive continuum of care,” according to the news release.

The acquisition of Atria Greenridge Place, now operating as Masonicare at Greenridge Place, marks another “pivotal step in Masonicare’s mission to provide exceptional care for older adults,” according to the news release. “Under Masonicare’s ownership and management, the 108-unit assisted living and memory care community brings new opportunities to serve Connecticut seniors.

“By incorporating Greenridge Place into its portfolio, Masonicare extends its geographical reach and deepens its commitment to high-quality, personalized care. Residents of Masonicare at Greenridge Place will benefit from the organization’s holistic approach, including integrated healthcare services, memory care, and wellness programs.
