Wallingford Star Athlete Is ‘Great Team Player & Works Very Hard’
We all know athletes who shine whether they're competing or not. Let's help share these amazing stories!

WALLINGFORD, CT — We all know student athletes who also bring their A-game to other parts of their lives.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know the individual stories behind the leaderboard.
This submission comes from Nancy Harrington, who nominated her grandson Thomas of Wallingford.

Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?
Thomas is a great team player and works very hard at his craft. He also volunteers training new skaters at his club's Learn to Skate program. The club is Blue Edge FSC and meets at Quinnipiac University's rink. His synchronized skating team, CT Fusion, is preparing for its first competition of the season. Last season, they earned two silver medals and skated in exhibitions. Thomas cheerfully helps with the "Snowplow Sam" skaters (tots), which is where it all began.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?
Thomas works extremely hard at a rather unforgiving sport. He is joyous through it all, and it shows in his skating!
Keep up the great work, Thomas!
