Plans include upgrading the emergency department, adding specialists, and expanding cancer care so more residents can be treated locally.

4. Waterbury's main streets makeover moves city closer to 'more modern, accessible, and business friendly' (thehour.com) — Major upgrades to Waterbury’s North and South Main streets are well underway, with city officials highlighting safer sidewalks, improved drainage, and a more business-friendly streetscape downtown. The $4.3 million project includes new bus shelters, better parking, and long-overdue utility and storm sewer work.
