Here are five outstanding nonprofit groups you should know about in the Waterford area:

  1. CT Animal House: This non-profit organization is dedicated to ending the euthanasia of adoptable dogs in Connecticut Pounds.
  2. United Cerebral Palsy of Eastern Connecticut: UCP lists its mission as advancing the independence and full citizenship of individuals across a spectrum of disabilities, including Cerebral Palsy.
  3. National Marine Educators Association: The association works to advance the understanding and protection of our freshwater and marine ecosystems.
  4. Always Home, Inc.: The nonprofit was formed to address the needs of Southeastern Connecticut's homeless and imminently homeless families.
