Air Quality Consultants Say Residents May Return to Greentree Manor

An experienced air quality consulting firm has confirmed that Greentree Manor residents may return to the facility

An experienced air quality consulting firm has confirmed that Greentree Manor residents may return to the facility. According to State of Connecticut regulations, the air sampling results indicate it is safe for them to return. The firm, Mystic Air Quality Consultants, Inc. has been onsite since Thursday, Mar. 9, testing air quality and overseeing the health and safety of those in the building.

“Our results indicate that there is no risk from asbestos fibers based on the information we've obtained through continuous testing of the air within Greentree Manor,” said Dave Wiseman, who is licensed by the Department of Health as an Asbestos Monitor/Inspector working for Mystic Air Quality Consultants. “We have been running background asbestos air samples throughout the entire process. Those results have remained, and continue to be, below detectable levels.”

Throughout the process, the staff at Greentree Manor have been working with DPH, following their recommendations and keeping them informed. Residents will return to Greentree Manor when DPH gives the final approval.
