Alzheimer’s Association Hosts 'Keeping Connected through the Holidays'

The 'Keeping Connected through the Holidays' program helps caregivers and families focus on maintain connections during the holiday season.

Southington, CT,– With the holidays upon us, being a Caregiver for someone with dementia can be even more stressful than usual. Join the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter for a presentation on Keeping Connected through the Holidays facilitated by Kristine Johnson which will focus on how to develop and maintain connections during the holiday season. Kristine will discuss strategies to engage in positive visits and interactions; explore tactics to discuss holiday celebrations that best suit the needs of the person diagnosed and the caregiver; address safety concerns and provide options to minimize overstimulation during the holiday season.

Keeping Connected through the Holidays will take place on December 15, at New London Rehab and Care, 88 Clark Lane, Waterford from 5-6pm. The Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter estimates there are more than 74,000 people in Connecticut with Alzheimer’s disease and a growing population of early onset Alzheimer’s in the state.
