Waterford, CT (July 2, 2024) – Nick Gauthier, Democratic nominee for the 38th State House District, was endorsed by the Connecticut AFL-CIO at their convention late last week, garnering support from a labor federation that represents over 200,000 members statewide and thousands in the district.

According to the CT AFL-CIO: “Over two hundred delegates from nearly 100 local unions, labor chapters, building trades councils, and area labor federations” attended the organization’s Fifteenth Biennial Political convention. Nick Gauthier earned the backing of the CT AFL-CIO’s members, “who live and work in every city and town in our state, and reflect the diversity that makes Connecticut great.

"I am proud and honored to have received the endorsement of the working people of our state who make our state work!” said Nick Gauthier. “Thank you to the members and delegates of the Connecticut AFL-CIO for your vote of confidence. Looking out for the needs and interests of working families is what I have done when I worked as a labor organizer and what I will do as our next state Representative."

Nick Gauthier was unanimously endorsed as the Democratic candidate in May by delegates from throughout the 38th House District, which encompasses Waterford and part of Montville. In April, Gauthier qualified as a candidate with the Connecticut Citizens’ Election Program (CEP), after well exceeding both the amount of small-dollar donations and the number of donors within the district required to qualify.
