"Harvest to Hearth: Thanksgiving in 1850s Waterford" event Nov. 9
The Waterford Historical Society brings living historians to Jordan Green historic buildings with a strong focus on Thanksgiving

The Waterford Historical Society once again invites the Dirty Blue Shirts living historians to be in and around Jordan Green's historic buildings with a strong focus on the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday: What that meant for our mid-19th-century Waterford ancestors: food, family, gratitude for what they had, remembering those who were gone, charity for those who had less.
There will be hearth cooking in the Beebe-Phillips House, the antique cider press will be put into action to demonstrate the process, and fresh cider from a local farm will be offered to visitors. Visitors can stroll the grounds and enter our historic buildings to learn about what life in Waterford was like "way back then." The popular, bustling blacksmith shop will open its doors for observation, and the Stacy Barn farming equipment from Waterford's agricultural past open for browsing.
Open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the event is free and open to the public. Donations are always gratefully accepted!
