Here's A First—Someone Stole A Shed!
The shed pictured here was stolen from the nonprofit Habitat for Humanity Re-Store business. Waterford Police are also seeking assistance in identifying a suspected credit card thief pictured here.
There have been a lot of reports of items being stolen from sheds in Waterford recently, but this time someone actually stole the shed itself!
The shed was taken during the overnight hours of October 1 into October 2 from outside Habitat for Humanity's Re-Store, which is located at 82 Boston Post Road near the intersection of Route 1 and Willetts Avenue in Waterford. The store was using the shed for storage.
To add insult to injury, the Habitat for Humanity ReStore sells donated furniture, appliances, and building materials at discounted prices to raise money to help Habitat for Humanity of Eastern Connecticut build more homes in partnership with needy families.
"Due to the size and description, we suspect that this object shouldn’t be too hard to locate if placed on a property in the area in the last day or two," Waterford Police note on the department's Facebook Page.
If you see it, please call the Waterford Police Department at 860-442-9451. Reference case # 2013-02251 or ask for Officer O’Connell.
