Hold On To Your Witch's Hat Tonight—High Wind Alert Issued For New London County

The National Weather Service is predicting high, hazardous winds with gusts of up to 60 mph starting late tonight and continuing through Friday.

The wind will howl on Halloween night. The National Weather Service has issued a high wind alert for our area, starting late tonight through to Friday morning and on into Friday afternoon.

Southwest winds of 25 mph to 35 mph are expected, along with gusts of up to 50 mph, possibly even 60 mph. These damaging winds could pull down trees and power lines, so we might see scattered power outages. Strong winds could also make driving difficult if you're in a tall vehicle.
