Temperatures are forecast to be 90 degrees or above through Saturday and near 90 degrees on Sunday with high humidity levels. The Waterford Community Center located at 24 Rope Ferry Road will be available as a cooling center Monday through Friday this week from 8 am until 8 pm and this Saturday and Sunday from 8 am until 4 pm. Please stop in to escape the heat as needed.

It is important to stay hydrated and cool during this heatwave. Drink plenty of fluids and wear loose-fitting, light-colored clothing. Avoid the sun during the day when possible. Check on elderly relatives and neighbors who may not have air conditioning. Make sure outdoor pets have shade and water, or are brought indoors to keep cool.
