Waterford Man Facing Drug, Weapon Charges After Route 9 Traffic Stop
A Waterford man is facing a bundle of drug charges after a stop in Middletown, police said.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Waterford Resident was arrested after a highway stop in Middletown, police said.
On Friday, detectives from the Middletown Police Department Street Crimes Unit arrested Gene L. Walker, 33, of Waterford after his vehicle was stopped on Route 9 southbound near Exit 10, according to an incident report.
Walker became uncooperative during the stop and, at one point, refused to get out of his car and tried to roll up a window on detectives, according to an incident report. He was eventually taken into custody without any further altercation, police said.

Detectives seized a "large amount" of cocaine and crack cocaine, along with fentanyl, a large knife, drug packaging materials and a scale, according to an incident report.
Walker has been charged with driving with a suspended registration, driving without insurance, possession of drug paraphernalia, narcotics possession (three counts), possession with the intent to sell (two counts), operating a drug factory, possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle and interfering with. police.
