Woman Fraudulently Purchased $7K Worth Of Jewelry From Waterford Store, Police Say

A woman is facing charges after police say she used a fraudulent credit card.

WATERFORD, CT — A woman is facing accusations that she purchased over $7,000 worth of jewelry from a Waterford business using a fraudulent credit card, according to police.

Following an investigation, Candace Johnson-Jefferson, 36, of Philadelphia, was taken into custody Dec. 18 with assistance from the Bethel Police Department.

She was charged with third-degree larceny and illegal use of a payment card, police said. Johnson-Jefferson was held on $25,000 bond.

Police said she used the fraudulent credit card to buy the jewelry June 4.
