Bear Surprises West Hartford Resident In Back Yard: Report

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A West Hartford resident had a bear encounter over Memorial Day Weekend that appeared to be too close for comfort.

Resident David Wolfert told Fox 61 that his encounter was captured on his home security camera.

According to Fox 61, bears are nothing new on Wolfert's property, with the report showing a prior image of a mother and baby trudging through their yard.

This latest image of a bear showed what Wolfert claimed was a juvenile creature running into the nearby woods, according to Fox 61.

Bears are more and more common once spring and summer arrive, with a bear invading Wethersfield's historic district just a few days prior to the West Hartford encounter.
