West Hartford Collecting Cardboard, E-Waste In Post-Holiday Event
The two-day special collection is free and will take place at the town's yard waste and recycling center.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — With Christmas now in the rearview mirror, the Town of West Hartford is hosting a special, two-day collection of both cardboard and electronics waste.
The West Hartford Department of Public Works is offering a post-holiday, two-day cardboard box and electronics recycling collection on Monday, Dec. 29, and Tuesday, Dec. 30, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the West Hartford Yard Waste and Recycling Center, 25 Brixton St.

No permit is required for these two materials, but folks must have a permit for all other items.
Electronic waste is anything with a plug and no freon. This includes holiday string lights, as electronics and string lights are not allowed in curbside recycling.
Residents are asked to break down boxes before arriving.

"Please note that the recycling event will be canceled if we have inclement weather, as DPW crews will be needed to plow and keep roads safe," wrote the town.
"If the event is canceled, only permitted vehicles may drop off material. There will be no make-up days. As always, no commercial waste."
