EDCAD Holds Open House in Torrington/Winchester
ECAD'S October 15 open house event will be held at Its Laura J. Niles Campus.

WINCHESTER/TORRINGTON, CT - ECAD, Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities, is a local nonprofit located on the Winchester/Torrington town line. It will hold an Open House from 12 noon - 4 pm, on October 15 to which the public is cordially invited. Admission is free.
ECAD’s mission is to enable people with disabilities to gain greater independence and mobility through the use of specially educated dogs. Each dog is educated to meet the needs of a specific population: Veterans, at-risk youth, persons living with disabilities or in stressful circumstances, and children as young as two with Autism.

Retired US Army Veteran Tony Charles of West Hartford was paired with his ECAD Service Dog Dozer three years ago. Dozer helps Charles deal with his PTSD as well as physical ailments that came as a result of his service.
Activities that will take place at the Open House include: puppy petting, Assistance Dog demonstrations, summer camp information, and the emporium. Snacks will be available.
