Growing Salad/Wrap Chain Opens In West Hartford, Celebrations Planned

WEST HARTFORD, CT — One of the town's newest additions to its culinary scene recently opened in the Bishop's Corner section of town, with a full week of celebrations planned next week.

"Just Salad," a New York City-based salad/wraps/healthy food chain, opened in West Hartford last month.

It is planning a weeklong grand opening celebration from Monday, Feb. 10, to Saturday, Feb. 15.

The highlight of the week is a grand opening/ribbon-cutting ceremony slated for Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 10 a.m. at the 2538 Albany Ave. site in West Hartford.

While local town and community dignitaries are expected at that event, "Just Salad" will be having a grand opening week.

Among the highlights:

• Giveback Day: Monday, Feb. 10. For every in-store purchase, "Just Salad" will donate $1 to The Children's Museum's wildlife sanctuary at its West Hartford site.

• $5 meals: Tuesday, Feb. 11, to Thursday, Feb. 13. "Chef-designed" salads, wraps or warm bowls are $5.

• $5 VIP Bowl Day: Friday, Feb. 14. If you bring or purchase a "Just Salad" reusable bowl, you get a salad/warm bowl for $5.

• $5 Community Workers Day: Saturday, Feb. 15. Community workers get a $5 meal.

Founded in 2006, "Just Salad's" premise is "healthy, affordable, climate-conscious, and mouth-wateringly delicious meals."

As of today, Just Salad has more than 90 eateries in seven states — Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
