Kids And Phones Topic Of Special West Hartford Program
Local schools and town social services agencies are hosting a showing of a documentary about issues children have with cell phones.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — If you're a parent, then you're going to want to take your child to a special program in West Hartford this Thursday, Nov. 20.
That's because local schools and social service agencies are hosting a special screening of the documentary "Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age."

The movie showing is at Hall High School, 975 N. Main St., West Hartford, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
It is being hosted by West Hartford Prevention Partnership, West Hartford Public Schools, West Hartford Community of Concern, and OKtoDelayWH.

The movie is especially for parents of children who have phones or are considering getting their child a phone.
Youths aged fourth grade and up are invited to view the film.
In addition, there will be a free pizza dinner, and complimentary childcare for ages 4+ will be available.
"Screenagers is an insightful documentary that probes into the vulnerable corners of family life and depicts messy struggles and challenges families face with social media, video games, and academic pressures," wrote the town in an announcement.
The film has been updated for 2025 with the latest science, research, and expert insights.
Guests can also enjoy an "Alternative Device Fair" before the film to explore simple, kid-friendly communication tools designed for young minds and to increase independence.
