Lifesaving OD Meds Available at WeHa/Bloomfield Health District

WEST HARTFORD/BLOOMFIELD, CT — Sadly, one never knows when they will come across someone suffering from an opioid overdose.

To help, the West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District has free supplies that can help anyone save a life should they encounter one of these emergencies.

The health department — which serves West Hartford/Bloomfield and is located at 500 Cottage Grove Road, Suite 100, Bloomfield — has free doses of Narcan and Fentanyl test strips.

Narcan is a life-saving drug that can reverse the effects of many opioid overdoses.

such supplies can help bystanders save OD victims and bridge the small time gap between an emergency and when responders arrive.

All of the supplies available are free while supplies last and they will be distributed no questions asked.

Proof of residency is required to receive the free supplies.
