Major Initiative Underway To Expand West Hartford's Tree Canopy

The West Hartford Tree Project has kicked off a crowdfunding campaign to raise money to plant more trees in town.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A major initiative to preserve and grow the town's tree canopy is ongoing, with funds sought to help make it happen.

The 2026 West Hartford Tree Project crowdfunding campaign is officially live.

The goal is to raise $6,000, which will be matched by Sustainable CT.

The money will be used to purchase and plant 1,000-plus native trees every year to replace the 20 percent loss of its tree canopy from 2010 to 2023.
