Money Matters For Kids Topic Of WeHa Library Program
Teen volunteers are hosting a special program at the West Hartford Public Library about the value of money for local children.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — Any parent will tell you their child is, likely, completely clueless about money's importance and the value of it.
But a West Hartford Public Library program next week aims to solve that childhood bugaboo.
The name of the program sounds like a college course, but "Finance in Advance: Introductory Personal Finance Worksops" is for children in grades 5-8, with fiscal literacy the primary goal.

The series of fun, interactive workshops will be conducted by teenage volunteers, who will touch on personal finance Sept. 6; accounts on Sept. 13; investments Sept. 20; and taxes on Sept. 27.
While the topics may seem a bit dry for youngsters, the workshops will be conducted in a fun and engaging manner, with personal finance games being played throughout.
"We're excited to introduce you to the world of personal finance and get you thinking about money and economics in a fun way," wrote the West Hartford Public Library.
