New West Hartford Coffee/Sandwich Chain To Host Ribbon-Cutting

The England-based chain has 1,000 shops worldwide, with West Hartford and Darien the state's lone shops.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A new coffee shop in West Hartford will officially cut the ribbon this week during a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to be attended by town/community leaders.

The London-based coffee chain "Caffe Nero" will officially dedicate its new shop on Thursday, Jan. 23, at 11 a.m. at its 13 S. Main St. site in West Hartford, according to the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce.

"Caffe Nero strives to be your home away from home. Their goal since the very beginning has been to create a place that radiates comfort, relaxation, and warmth," wrote the company in an announcement on the Chamber's website.

With about 1,000 locations around the world, West Hartford and Darien represent Connecticut's only "Caffe Nero" shops. West Hartford's site opened last fall.

The chain specializes in coffee beverages, with a slant toward Italian-theme specialty coffees, along with other beverages.

As for the food, "Caffe Nero's" menu boasts of items such as a sausage breakfast roll, bacon breakfast roll, ham and chees croissants, and a roasted tomato breakfast roll, among other menu items.

For lunch, "Caffe Nero" has the usual menu of sandwiches, soups, and salads, all with an Italian appeal.
