WeHa Rec Unveils New Spring/Summer Program Guide

WEST HARTFORD, CT — There's about a month and a half left of winter, but now is the time for people to start planning for what kind of fun they and their children will have when the mercury rises.

West Hartford officials this week announced the release of the town's annual spring and summer recreation guide, which is chock full of information regarding what programs and fun events are available.

And the town is urging folks to plan ahead as there are hundreds of West Hartford Department of Leisure Services classes, programs and events for all ages

For example, registration for 2023 spring programs and summer camps has already begun, recreation officials said.

Those camps are at several of West Hartford's popular recreation facilities, such as Westmoor Park, Elmwood Community Center, Veterans Memorial Skating Rink and other town parks.

And, registration can be done online in the comfort of one's own home.

Here's a pre-registration checklist for residents to utilize:

• Log into RecDesk to create/update an account.

• Add all children to household and confirm correct birthdates.

• Search on RecDesk for “Leisure Camp Emergency Form” and enroll in the “program.”

This allows registrants to prefill necessary health forms to avoid delays on the day of registration.

This program is a $0 fee but it is critical that you complete the enrollment (including finalizing payment) so an updated form is reflected in our system.

For returning campers, click view/edit on their existing health form, confirm that emergency contacts, phone numbers and email addresses have been updated and re-date the form for 2023.

This assures the town it has the most up-to-date information to ensure the safety of all campers.

• Westmoor Park Sunscreen and Transportation Authorization.

This form is only required for Westmoor Park camps.

Those not planning on attending a program at Westmoor Park do not need to complete this form.

For Westmoor Park camp participants, this form needs to be completed annually.
