Rather Unusual Rescue Reported In West Hartford Friday Morning
A team of West Hartford police officers and the animal control officer had an interesting Friday morning as they started their day.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Being an animal control officer, often, isn't what it's quacked up to be.
Friday morning, West Hartford Animal Control Officer Kimberly Gulino learned that firsthand when the first call of the day came in.
It wasn't to investigate a bear sighting or help a stray dog find its home.

Unfortunately, one of the baby ducks wandered the wrong way and fell into a storm basin.
Enter Gulino and her friends with the West Hartford Police Department.
Utilizing some ingenuity and strength, the crew moved the heavy grate, and it allowed Gulino to reach in and gently grab the wayward baby quacker to safety, reuniting it with mom.
The team even posted images of themselves and the duck after the rescue.
"We were able to get it out and rescue it with the help of this wonderful crew pictured," wrote West Hartford Animal Control.
