Shiny, New Ladder Truck Wows West Hartford FD
The West Hartford FD recently traveled to Wisconsin to inspect the new, 100-foot ladder truck that will soon join its ranks.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — There's a new firetruck about to join the West Hartford Fire Department's apparatus arsenal.
Last month, WHFD officials visited Appleton, Wisc., where Pierce Manufacturing finished custom-building a 100-foot aerial apparatus fire truck for the WHFD.
No timetable has been unveiled for when the truck will officially join the fleet in West Hartford, but the WHFD appears pleased with the results so far.

The WHFD thanks West Hartford Mayor Shari Cantor, West Hartford Town Manager Rick Ledwith, West Hartford Fire Chief Greg Priest, and the West Hartford Town Council.
It was with the support of those aforementioned individuals that "we worked diligently with the sales professionals at Firematic to design a fire apparatus best to meet the ever growing needs of our community," wrote the WHFD.

Firematic is a fire department supply company out of Rocky Hill that is working with the WHFD to stock the new ladder truck.
The new apparatus will replace a 2009 Spartan/Crimson aerial, which has reached the end of its serviceability.
"We look forward to completing the outfitting and training needed to place this apparatus in service. Look for it to be serving the community of West Hartford in the very near future," wrote the WHFD.
