Special WeHa Event To Promote Teen Health And Wellness

The town's annual West Hartford Teen Wellness Fair will take place on Saturday, March 23, at Hall High School.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Young people in grades 6-12 are invited to a special event at Hall High School on Saturday, March 23, one that emphasizes their health and wellness.

A free event, the West Hartford Teen Wellness Fair & Student Art Showwill take place at Hall from 1 to 4 p.m. Hall is located at 975 N. Main St., West Hartford.

It is being sponsored by West Hartford Community of Concern, a local nonprofit dedicated to working with the school system regarding mental health and wellness initiatives.

In addition to a plethora of information on mental health and wellness, the program will feature a boatload of fun activities as well.

Those include food and music; prize drawings; therapy dogs; art; video games; fitness and nutrition tips; and much, much more.

Though there is no cost to attend, event organizers are asking the public to register in advance if possible.

In addition, the event will host a special "QPR" training session from 2 to 3:15 p.m. at the fair.

QPR is an acronym for "question, persuade, and refer" and it is a technique for people to help others, especially teens, who may be thinking about harming themselves.
