State Trooper's Vehicle Sideswiped in West Hartford During Routine Traffic Stop
The accident was reported Saturday evening on Interstate 84.

A state trooper was about to exit his vehicle when the car was sideswiped on Interstate-84 west near Exit 43, according to the Hartford Courant. This occurred during a routine weekend traffic stop on Saturday at around 10:45 p.m.
The state trooper, Douglas Bernier, told the Courant that he was fine, and he had just pulled over a Honda Civic and was about to get out of his Dodge Charger when a westbound Dodge Caliber hit him unexpectedly on the side of his car and then hit the stopped Honda.
Minor injuries were reported, and the police report does not say whether anyone was at fault or cited in the crash, the Courant reported.
