The West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District is hosting two of six flu shot clinics in West Hartford starting this week.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — October is the month to start thinking about getting your flu shot and starting this week, folks in West Hartford have an easy means to do so.
The West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District is hosting six separate clinics at West Hartford locations.
"Flu season is approaching, and the WHBHD will host multiple walk-in flu clinics in both Bloomfield and West Hartford," wrote the regional health department.

No appointments are necessary, and folks can just walk in, but they should remember to bring their ID and insurance card.
The following are West Hartford's flu clinics:

• Thursday, Oct. 2, 3 to 7 p.m., West Hartford Town Hall, 50 S. Main St.
• Friday, Oct. 3, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Bishop's Corner Senior Center, 15 Starkel Road.
• Monday, Oct. 6, 3 to 7 p.m., Conard High School, 110 Beechwood Road.
• Tuesday, Oct. 14, 3 to 7 p.m., West Hartford Town Hall, 50 S. Main St.
• Tuesday, Oct. 21, 3 to 6:30 p.m., Elmwood Community Center, 1106 New Britain Ave.
• Monday, Oct. 27, 3 to 7 p.m., King Philip Middle School, 100 King Philip Drive.
The vaccines are for those ages 4 and up, with guests asked to bring ID and insurance cards, including Medicare or supplemental cards.
The out-of-pocket flu shots are $50, $85 for a high-dose flu vaccine.
Getting vaccinated can help folks, especially the elderly, the very young, and the infirm, stave off a serious illness.
