Unique Program To Help Seniors Connect In West Hartford

The town's 'Circle of Friends' senior support group will begin meeting on Monday, Aug. 25, at West Hartford Town Hall.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The town is unveiling a unique program that strives to help senior citizens connect with others during a particularly vulnerable time in their lives.

Starting on Monday, Aug. 25, West Hartford Social Services is offering a six-week support group — called "Circle of Friends" — to help seniors combat loneliness and build connections.

The group offers practical solutions for those struggling with loneliness and actionable strategies to improve social connections and emotional well-being.

Each week will feature a different theme, gentle walks, creative activities, mindfulness, games, and laughter.

"We invite you to join our new Circle of Friends, a social group for seniors," wrote the town's DSS.

The first session begins Monday, Aug. 25, at West Hartford Town Hall, 50 S. Main St.

The group will meet on Mondays, from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., on Aug. 25, as well as Sept 8, 15, 22, 29, and Oct. 6.
